The JUPITER ODYSSEY (preliminary)

This...is kinda big. Eh heh.

Soo...long story short: for quite some time, everyone has been asking me "Exactly what, Sith, does the Jupiter Odyssey, home to our heroes of Color Brigade, look like?" Alright, maybe it wasn't asked in that pompous fashion, but there have been quite the handful who've asked for a sketch. (You know who you are..)

I'll be frank here; I absolutely loathe drawing machinery, the genre being my absolute weak point in art. Animals? I can deal with. Flora? Sure, why not? But anything that man makes himself, especially ships have never been my strongest works. Or cars.

Who can draw a car professionally, anyway? Besides the people who make them.

Regardless, there were many sketches, finished and not that came before this. The point of the Jupiter Odyssey is that it isn't actually so big as it is very long; this length is in due part to the fact it was expected to carry heavy loads all while being able to move at fast speeds. How does one do that? they move it back and make the ship itself aerodynamic.

I only provided two shots of it, as the design isn't overtly complicated or simple. The only part I'd describe as being "hard to draw" are the wing extensions that not only keep the ship equally balanced, they're also there to make sure that when it lands, it provides extra frictions to prevent the ship from downright smashing into the ground.

Enough of that, why not interest yourself with some facts?

The Jupiter Odyssey

The Jupiter Odyssey is one of mankind's greatest technological achievements in Space Travel technology. "She" incorporates powerful engines and complex machinery that can sustain life within her hull for many months at a time. She also make a great mobile home. She uses "renewable" energy, such as solar, etc, to power herself and thanks to space being friction free, she can conserve her supplies. She rarely ever needs to use any other resource, though it would be wise to have a "back-up" fuel for her in case she undergoes some serious workouts...

The Jupiter Odyssey has a historical counterpart to her creation; she was inspired after I had examined drawings and photos of the Seawise Giant, which held the title of being the longest and largest ship by deadweight tonnage before being demolished after finishing her job in 2009. The Jupiter Odyssey takes her ancestor's size and doubles the length and tonnage, but for the CB Universe, she's not nearly as big as some other feats capable by humans in space...

The Jupiter Odyssey, best known as "Juni" to some of the Color Brigade cast, originally belonged to Rauthaz Regnboi, father to Blue Regnboi and inadvertently, the rest of the cast. After the "Night of Blood" Blue came to legally own her, yet he had no use for her until he reached the age of 16 (when he attended Shiz Uni). She's estimated to be at least around 35+ years but works like a charm~! This is in due part of her being made out of the finest non-rusting steel and has Green to fix her up if she's breaking down.

The glowing ball towards Juni's bow is a charging Energy Crystal Cannon. It's a powerful device but is rarely ever used during the series save for some nasty scuffles..

Right now, Juni houses at least 12 individuals, plus one dog (?), two cats, and a bird however she's capable of housing much more. Before Color Brigade, she used to house the whole Regnboi clan, an extrended family estimated to be over 300 people! Juni is so large she can afford to do this. Her probable estimate to house is at least 450-500 persons, but all the available room is being used for storage right now...

Most colors in Color Brigade only live in the front area of the ship. The very tail end is unusable, as that is where the main engines lie. The middle section is tapped off as being storage area and where the back-up engines/generators are stored.<

It may just be me, or does Juni...have a mind of her own?
